The Yabu Katsu Craze

It’s big, it’s all over the internet, it’s viral! People can’t stop talking about it. People are coming back for more. It’s the biggest craze to hit the town since John and Yoko, Krispy Kreme, even Breadtalk. It’s Yabu House of Katsu.

photo taken from runningpinoy.wordpress.com

I’ve read so much from the Filipino blogging community and finally told myself to get to the north and dine. Again, let me all remind you friends that i am loyal southern native and by that i mean Paranaque. lol. And to go to north just to dine means that i am very much intrigued and yes! the photos made me crave like a friggin preggy!

The worst part is that i didn’t bring my ever so loyal Canon 500D dslr! And i was stuck with my friend and blogger JP with his Nokia C2-03! It proved to be a handy phone after all. Here are some snaps ya’ll.

awesome gallery canvas pieces accentuate the whole place. Creating an experience that is authentic and japanese.

Choose between their special dressing or vinaigrette for the cabbage salad. Both rich to the tastebuds.

To prepare the Tonkatsu Sauce, we grind the seeds and dip the Sauce on the bowl. Another trippy experience, makes you feel like a legit chef. lol

Pork Rosu Katsudon. 320G. I think? gah. I forgot i was too hungry to tell. lol

Katsudon. They have the softest Tonkatsu yet. Best Tasting Japanese Miso Soup. And my personal favorite, the Cabbage Salad! (which is unlimited even the rice!)

No doubt, my trip to North was all worth it. Your pockets will be embracing real food experience. Two thumbs up to service as well! Only comment is that their sofas were too far off the table so it was a little tiring to scooch back and forth to eat. But yea. no big. lol

And a surprise greeted me as i entered the restroom! More gallery canvas! and a familiar one too! The blogging community! awesome!

AVA and KEIGH! you girls were staring at me while i was pissing! lol! haha great job ladies!

Our elders keep telling us that food is a blessing. I didn’t think so, not until Yabu.

Batulao Summit

When i was a kid i used to think there isn’t anything awesome to see in Batangas; I was wrong. So far, it’s the nearest destination away from Manila that you can visit to have some good R&R and if i’m not mistaken it has everything a good tourist destination demands.

For my second summer escape, I went to Mt. Batulao, Nasugbu, Batangas. It’s a 10 peak mountain climbing destination and experts in mounteering believe it to be a “teletubby” climb. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t, it probably depends on the stuff you bring along to the top but it definitely is a challenging climb for everyone. It is pretty steep and the roads are quite narrow at times.

hi raymon! very noah’s ark eh?

The top is breathtaking. A fulfilling moment for me since i’m not really the active type lol. It is definitely worth a try, a shout out to those who want to try mountain hiking for the first time, this is your chance! click!

Punta Fuego

hello tumblr pals, i haven’t been updating! (slaps own face) anyway, i’m back now! This long weekend was just what i needed. R&R baby! lol. So these past few weeks have been the most stressful i had by far; job hunting, dilemmas on resigning or extending, interviews, time-in’s and outs, leaves, undertime and all that work crap!

Ya’ll know what i mean.

Anyway, i went to Terrazas de Punta Fuego with the best-est people ever. We weren’t complete but it was all good. I got to drink again after one month. mmm-hmm. good ole alcohol back in my system! haha

I’m rushing my prologue because i’m too exited to… PhotoDump Mode! Lol

And so i’ve learned that the cure for anything is salt water;

sweat, tears, or the sea

Xin Wang Hongkong Cafe

Probably the best eating experience i have had my whole life! (and no, i wasn’t paid to blog about this at all.) I just really want to share with ya’ll this extra awesome place called Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe.

It started out a few months back when i saw their ad at Mall Of Asia when it was still under construction. It had a tagline saying they have over 200 dishes to choose from, and that caught my attention. Weeks later, it opened and i saw the dishes from the menu, i was salivating just by merely looking. Too bad i was dead broke at that time so i was technically menu lurking. With that scenario, i promised myself to go back and try it.

here’s what i had

Watermelon Shake. Recommended

HK Iced Milk Tea

Bamboo Rice with Shitake Mushroom Topped with Beef and Vegetables. Rice was impeccable

This is the highlight of the meal. We asked what the best seller was and the waiter gave us this. Cheese baked rice with Chicken! Ugh, i have never heard of such a dish, it was epic.

Dry Chili Noodle with Luncheon Meat and Egg. Didn’t tast good at first but when i mixed the egg with pasta, the flavor sunked in well. :>

there was nothing like it. I was full for 4hrs and  i’ve never been full for that long, not even in eat-all-you-can buffets! And believe it or not, it was worth less than 700 pesos. There’s nothing more i can add to that friends. You just have to try it for yourself.

I’m telling you
